Description: signed 18"x24" oil on canvas on stretcher board. Shives is a renowned Abstract artist who was elected to the Royal Canadian Association of Artists (RCA) in 2006. He got his BFA Degree at the San Francisco Institute and went on to graduate with a MA in Painting from Stanford. When he returned to live in Vancouver in 1969 Toni Onley became his lifelong mentor. Onley encouraged

him to pursue his art with professional galleries in Vancouver and Toronto. Shives art is in the National Gallery of Art in Ottawa. He is also an accomplished mountain climber.
